Objectives:
To know the realities and resources of the different environments that support the mentally ill in Portugal.
Identify the impacts of existential suffering on different living dynamics.
Understand what dysfunctional ways of life are and how to react to them.
Learn forms of intervention to support caregivers of patients with mental illness.
Skills:
Demonstrate critical analysis skills on the observed experiences, digitally running in the classroom;
Demonstrate the ability to record in text what you thought, felt and what intervention you suggested, to support the people you saw.

Support resources for the mentally ill in Portugal
Social inclusion and therapeutic workshops with utility / uselessness

The impacts of the living dynamics of people with mental illness:

Therapeutic communication and help techniques

Teaching Methods

In line with the objectives, teaching methodologies planned techniques are informative and expository framed in scientific-technical field and interactive strategies conducive to student participation and reflection. In addition to the oral presentation made by the teacher are used slides, films and simulated clinical cases.
They are also encouraged to conduct research and bibliographic databases, in particular EBSCO for the analysis of clinical situations worked in practical classes.
According to the Internal Regulation School, students can opt for the continuous assessment and the exam system. Continuous assessment is intentended to be privileged. The continuous assessment consists of a written frequency, covering the entire sillabus and weighing 100% of the final grade.
The evaluation by exam will include a written test, covering the entire syllabus and weighing 100% of the final grade.
