The Curricular Unit allows the development of skills in the process of caring for sick or healthy people at different times in their life cycle and in different contexts.

Contents

• Care planning with prescription of specific therapeutic interventions
o Provision of care according to plan and with the evolution of the situation

o Effective management of rapidly evolving situations

Teaching Methods

The consolidation of competences is based on the clinical reasoning process. The student, mastering the clinical reasoning process, must be able to operationalize each of the phases in the development of the care process in an integrated way. The methodological strategies integrate supervision, guidance, discussion and analysis of care processes and seminars.
Students do Clinical Teaching in services, preferably with training suitability, by the Ordem dos Enfermeiros, supervised by Clinical Supervisors Nurses, preferably with competences in clinical supervision.
The evaluation will be continuous. Clinical practice will be evaluated by the clinical supervisor using a specific instrument built for this purpose. The conceptual support component is aimed at two moments with delivery, in writing: 1 clinical case and 1 RE and evaluated by the professor. The grade obtained in the provision of care 60% of the final classification. The conceptual component with 40%.

Assessment

The evaluation is continuous. The clinical component corresponds to 70% of the final grade. The conceptual component corresponds to 30% of the final grade: 2 Clinical Cases/1 Family Study - 20% and Internship Report - 10%. The evaluation of the Seminars will be done through a chapter of the Report. Each component will be evaluated using its own instruments.
