Learning Goals

This curricular unit deepens the theme of spatial qualities of the subject and introduces the issues of
construction physics, integrating constructive consciousness in architecture project. We aim to, from
development of the exercise initiated in curricular unit of Advanced Project I, the consolidation of project
strategies that may integrate the subjects approached, in a coherent and articulated whole. The exercise could
be developed in articulation with deepen work in curricular units of Architecture and Technology, approaching
complexity of knowledge that intervene in project’s definition.

3. Introduce ability of critical observation and constructive analysis
4. Introduce the issue of spatial qualities of the subject
5. Introduce the issue of construction physics
6. Develop ability of communication of the project and theoretical thought about the project

Contents

Subject: Theme: construction physics
1. Project tools: sketch, technical drawing stand by computer, model
2. Project research methods
3. Complex programs as integrated elements of the project
4. Analysis of study cases accordingly to their constructive dimension
5. Materials and their application and suitability

Teaching Methods

Lessons will be taught in practical and laboratorial system, with a total of 12 hours weekly contact, more 6
tutorial attendance hours. The programmatic contents will be introduced by the teacher through classes with
audiovisual support, lectures, study visits and individual attendance, or in groups, of the students’ work. The
exercises will be developed in class, under the teacher’s guidance.
Evaluation is ruled only by continuous evaluation system, resulting on attendance of the students’ work along
the semester, and will be achieved based on demonstration of dominion of taught contents. The students must
assist, mandatorily, to 60% of the classes, to be able to get approval in the curricular unit.
