At the end of this curricular unit, the student should be able to:
- characterize the theoretical and practical/intervention fields of health psychology
- understand the evolution (and its determinants) of the concepts of health and disease, on bases of the biomedical and biopsychossocial paradigms;
- recognize and develop a critical perspective of the current theoretical and methodological debates in the field of health psychology;
- know the main predictive models of health (and disease) behavior (including self-regulation models);
- know the main models of behavior change in health-risk situations

1. Health psychology: object of study and main social-cognition models of health behavior
1.1. Evolution of the concepts of health and disease

Teaching Methods

Lectures - presentation of issues with the aid of practical examples that facilitate understanding. Continuous assessment:
2 works in group
T1 Group work consisting of the presentation of a scientific article about health psychology. This article should be presented in class.
T2 - group / jury that is in charge of presenting new ideas, research suggestions and bibliographical research on other aspects not mentioned in the presented article. This work will also be presented in writing.
Each group will have to be in both presentation and jury situations.
Participation in a research work PI
weighting:
Continuous evaluation = (25%) T1 + (50%) T2 + (25%) PI
All papers must be submitted in writing.

Evaluation by exam:
Assessment by Exam (including exam of resource and examination of special period) will be carried out through:
Written test on the topics studied and practical part about a research proposal.
