		     Mandatory. This UC occupies a strategic place and should contribute to the configuration of the horizon of the Doctorate in Practical Philosophy, bringing together in modules various lines of work, present in the research support unit, which should be deepened in other UCs of the course.

Contents
		  		      1. The practical tradition of Western philosophy: the pursuit of happiness and the ethical-political problematic.
2. The care of the Self in Greek and Latin Antiquity and its philosophical re-appropriation today.
3. Practical rationality and the question of freedom: some decisive positions, from Luis de Molina and Kant to Schelling and Nietzsche.
4. The modern discovery of Eastern thought and its growing influence in the global world. The proximity of the religious.
5. From the therapeutical vocation of philosophy to the phenomenological clinic: Philosophy, Medicine, Psychoanalysis, Existential Analysis.

Teaching Methods
		  		      Attendance regime and, in duly justified cases, possible online participation. Students should be able to present aspects of their own investigations, related to the theme in question, in an organized open discussion, which can take place in or in the form of a communication in a Colloquium, may it be organized in the context of the Course, or elsewhere. Teaching: exhibition, texts and debate. Sessions held by guest lecturers or the participation of students in scientific meetings that take place on related topics/areas may be included.
