Learning Goals

- To familiarize the students with the different methods and techniques used to inventory the various types of heritage;
- Analyze the concepts, characteristics and characteristics of Heritage, examining the pertinence and application of theoretical and practical instrumentation aimed at its protection, safeguarding, conservation and valorization.

Contents

1.The notion of Patrimony (movable, immovable, immaterial, integrated) and the instruments of the ethics of safeguarding the cataloging and inventorying of heritage
2. Inventory of heritage and transmission of memory
2.1 The methodology of cataloging and inventorying and computer resources: contribution to the valuation of the heritage, bet on its cultural and tourist dimension and the definition of protection areas;
2.2 The computerization of the data, the numeration of the pieces and the construction of relational databases to identify the patrimonial funds 3. The Intangible Cultural Heritage: the 2003 UNESCO Convention
3.1 The Masters in Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity program (UNESCO in 1999) and the creation of Living Human Treasure systems (1993); the relationship with inventories and community participation.
4. The Patrimonial Inventory and the management of the patrimony: The patrimony, its legal status, the units of study and the operations of census and and of study.

Teaching Methods


Theoretical-practical classes, with the use of experts in some sessions, complemented with assistance to seminars, study visits, visualization and critical analysis of audiovisual material and analysis of case studies. Tutorial accompaniment of the students to support the accomplishment of the works.

Continuous evaluation:
Elaboration of an original Inventory Form record applied to a patrimonial asset of the student's choice, integrated in a written report (with text up to 6,000 characters, without spaces included; bibliography and attachments not included) (70%), oral presentation (30 %).
