Presentation

At UC Animal Feeding it is intended to apply the concepts acquired in Animal Nutrition to the practice of feeding different animal species.

Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

Knowledge of the nutritional value of foods, the interest and restrictions of their use by different animal species. Calculation of nutrient requirements. Application of techniques for ration formulation for ruminants and non-ruminants. Develop feeding strategies for different species and production systems.Consolidate fundamental basis of animal nutrition and feeding in order to optimize production and the health of animal, welfare and quality and safety of animal products.

Teaching Methods

The teaching is based on the structured theoretical exposition of the syllabus and on practical classes of application of the theoretical concepts through the resolution of exercises of formulation of compound foods and balanced diets and the analysis of case studies.
Evaluation: The student can choose the Continuous Assessment or Final Assessment regime.
Continuous Assessment: Two written tests, of frequency, whose final grade is calculated through the arithmetic average between the grades obtained in each of the frequencies.
Final Assessment: A written exam, covering all the subjects taught in the semester.
