Teaching Methods
Classes are structured as discussion forums, prioritising debate and all methods that enable and encourage active student participation. Learning is not achieved solely by students listening to the ?teacher? speak; learning is achieved simultaneously by students and teachers through the dialogical teacher-student (student-teacher) relationship. For this reason, we constantly seek to establish and encourage a favourable and open climate for the exchange of perspectives and experiences among students.
Assessment
Continuous evaluation: includes formative assessment. Students receive feedback on initial versions of their work, an individual paper in a working progress mode, choosing with the professor the social problem to be analysed and presenting public policy proposals, to be submitted at the end of the semester, by email to the lecturer and can improve, with the final result being graded (25%).
There is also a group work based on one of the compulsory readings (25%).
The end of the semester concludes with a written test on the knowledge acquired throughout the classes (50%).
There is an option for alternative assessment by exam (100%).
