This subject provides students with essential methodological criteria and formal devices for the preparation of academic and extra-academic work. It is intended to foster and develop the student research practice in a rigorous and independent way and to contribute for the development of oral and written language and their articulation of contents.

1.2.5. Techniques of synthesis and analysis: databases; thematic and citation; critical reviews; standards and criteria for citation; primary and secondary bibliography; citations of URLs

Teaching Methods
The classes will take place through theoretical exposition, appealing to the student's participation, with several exercises.
Continuous assessment requires the following practical work:
Preparation of a bibliography with at least 30 mentions including: monographs, journals, theses and URLs;
Preparation of a reading form that includes quotations from a book of the student's choice;
Practical in which the student will prepare a summary of a text given by the Professor;
Elaboration of a critical review of a work selected by the student;
Practical exercises performed in class.
The first four exercises correspond to 70% of the final grade; the last exercises and participation in classes to 30%.
The evaluation criteria will be as follows:
Quality of work;
Student attendance as a guarantee of learning;
Amount of work;
Ability to evolve.
There is the possibility of completing this course unit by examination, to be agreed with the Professor.
