Learning Goals

Elaborate a written work on a research topic that falls within the field of Mechanical Engineering;
Electrical Engineering; Aerospace Engineering or Astronautics, of the project work type. This work should be applied knowledge and skills acquired during the course in order to evidence a professional approach to the work developed. The work should reveal problem-solving skills within the area of training. The student should be able to collect, select and interpret relevant information, which enables him to base solutions that he advocates and judgments, including in the analysis of social, scientific and ethical aspects. The student must execute and disseminate this work in writing.

Contents

The Project Assignment must have at least the following general basic structure, adaptable to specific cases of the topics under study:
1 - Introduction
2 - Framework
3 - Methodology (materials and methods)
4 - Processing and analysis of data
5 - Discussion and interpretation of results
6 - Conclusions
7 - References.

Teaching Methods

The teaching methodology is based on theoretical-practical classes and tutorial guidance specifically focused on the projects under development. A proactive learning approach is encouraged to motivate students to research the various topics necessary for the success of their Project.

Assessment

The assessment elements are the same for continuous assessment and final assessment. Assessment is based on a written report [R] and its presentation and defence in a public session before the course jury [D]. The final mark [NF] to be awarded is calculated using the following formula: NF = 0.7xR + 0.3xD.
