Learning Goals

Critical and in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals and general and specific concepts of Pharmacology, for the acquisition of competencies both in the therapeutic application of etiological drugs and organotropic drugs in medicine and surgery, as well as in the correct evaluation and management of the potential risks of their use, for animal health and for public health. Acquisition of solid knowledge of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodamia and etiotropic drugs and organotropic drugs, in order to know and understand the potentialities and limitations of the pharmacological arsenal in therapy, with safeguarding by good applicable practices. The student's formative profile will allow him to choose, interpret, discuss, evaluate and use the best strategies in Pharmacotherapy, with mastery in the application and execution of different techniques of drug administration.

Teaching Methods

Collective contact sessions for the transmission of fundamental knowledge where active methodologies will be used that appeal to student/student interaction, such as practical theoretical activities, debates, group/peer research, problem solving, which allows cooperative learning, a very effective method of solving problems and promoting learning.

Assessment

The classification may result from one of the following assessment systems:
a) Continuous assessment;
b) Final assessment.

Continuous assessment will include:
? Assessment of the theoretical-practical component, which will focus on the assessment of knowledge and its respective application (40%).
? Assessment of the theoretical component will be carried out through two written tests (60%). The minimum mark required to access the second test must be equal to or higher than 9.5, and the average of the two tests must be equal to or higher than 9.5 in order to pass the course unit.

The final assessment will be carried out through a final written exam, in which the grade must be equal to or higher than 9.5 in order to pass the course (100%).
