Learning Goals

The main objectives of this curricular unit are to analyse the processes of digital transformation and its impacts on society and in education and provide students with the knowledge and skills that allow them to face the challenges and opportunities arising from these processes in the field of education and research.
At the end of this course unit students should be able to achieve the following specific objectives:
1. To sustain an up-to-date, critical and informed view of the role of digital technologies in the field of education and training.
2. To know the emerging pedagogical approaches and perspectives related to the processes of integration of digital technologies in educational contexts.
3. Identify the areas and trends of research in the field of digital technologies in education
4. Select and use available and appropriate tools and technologies for the various processes involved in the fields of educational and research.

1. The processes of digital transformation and the need to build a rationale for the use of technologies in Education.
2. Emerging perspectives and approaches in the use of digital technologies in education.
3. Areas and trends of research in the field of digital technologies in education.
4. Tools and applications in the field of digital technologies in education.

Teaching Methods

The teaching methodologies to be adopted include short presentations by the teacher on the main theoretical dimensions, activities of reading and discussion of texts and other multimedia documents, organized in small groups. In the practical component, the methodology includes activities such as guided exploration of tools and technologies for educational and scientific work, advanced bibliographic databases research, the use of organization tools, storage and management of bibliographic information, development of tools for collecting online data, analysis of quantitative and qualitative tools for data treatment and analysis, as well as editing, publishing and electronic presentation tools.

Students who take the option of the Examination regime, must demonstrate the skills and knowledge acquired in this curricular unit through the performance of an evaluation test (100%).
