Presentation

The UC proposes to develop theoretical and practical reflection on structuring concepts of movement and body composition and its materialisation, through different tools and methodologies, in studio composition.

Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

- Identify and situate the paradigm change in the movement composition in contemporary artistic creation;
- Develop theoretical-conceptual tools that inform theatrical creation, from the perspective of movement and composition;
- Contextualize, through an interdisciplinary aesthetic analysis, prominent artistic legacies in art history, and understand how they reflect paradigm shifts in theatrical creation;
- Develop observation skills and critical discursive analysis, both from the director's perspective and in the actor's work;
- Knowing how to delimit observation and composition parameters and their possible materializations for the creation of students in an autonomous way;
- Develop the ability to apply the concepts studied in the creation of small dramatic compositions and to argue the design options;
- Develop methodologies for experimentation and materialization of the concepts through composition and the incorporation of these concepts through studio experience.

Contents

_ Conceptual theoretical exposition of founding principles of movement composition in the arts in a transversal way, in cinema, visual arts, music and performance with a greater focus on contemporary arts;
_ The teaching of referencial concepts defined in theories and/or systems of composition of reformers of the 20th century in aesthetics and in artistic creation;
_ Observation and discussion of artistic works in order to visualize the different proposals for materializing these concepts;
_ Elaboration of small exercises of critical analysis of movement and composition by the students;
_ Creation of small performative works by the students who translate the assimilation of different concepts and practices;
_ Preparation of a written work/report that demonstrates the ability to document the practical work, as well as its rationale, argumentation and conceptual theoretical framework.
