core structures of what will become the contemporary "postmodern condition" focusing on
a selection of significant authors within various literary genres.

- Intra-and inter-textual contexts
2. Reinventing the Literary Paradigms:
- The Canon of Modern Age
3. The Postmodern Condition:
- The emptying of concepts and the search for new representations
- The (dis)articulation of language with the (mis)conception the time and space
Set readings: T. S. Eliot, Virginia Woolf, Muriel Sparks,James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, John
Osborne, Harold Pinter, Seamus Heaney, Julian Barnes, Martin Amis, Ian McEwan,
Jonathan Frazen, and Salman Rushdie (two poetic works, two novels and two dramas)

Teaching Methods
Theoretical and practical classes including lectures and using media contents that are
uploaded in the beginning of every in the moodle. The students may choose between
continuous assessment or exam. The continuous assessment consists of a written test and the
production of a work to be developed throughout the term.
