Learning Goals

- The main objective of the UC is to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Communication Design that enhance the exploration of solutions within the scope of graphic narrative and rhetoric based on the intersection of scientific and design methods, in order to develop
its responsiveness in creating solutions and its application in a project.
- The student must identify and explore models for the construction of different communication design projects in printed or digital media.
Specific objectives:
- Provide reflection and exploration of the concept of innovation applied to communication design, considering the domains: conceptual, functional, technological, organizational or social.
- Understand, through practice, the relationship between: theme / narrative / rhetoric / identity of a communication design project.

Contents

The syllabus of the curricular unit is oriented towards the deepening of research skills in the area of Communication Design.
1. Communication Design Project
Concept and case studies.
2. The Graphic Narrative
3. Discourse and visual rhetoric
4. Analog vs digital graphic design
Explore and define solutions and their application in the project
Project presentation.

Teaching Methods

Classes will be based on the sharing and discussion of the acquired knowledge, promoting the development of theoretical-practical and practical exercises, using audiovisual media, literature, brainstorming and technical support.

In the evaluation of NORMAL SEASON students can choose one of the two regimes: Continuous or Final Evaluation.

1. CONTINUOUS EVALUATION SCHEME
Evaluation components:
Class participation: 20%;
Work developed during the period of classes with the accompaniment of the teacher, who must be submitted, at least, to a periodic evaluation with public disclosure of the classifications: 40%;
Presentation and defense of the work developed during classes, which takes place in the "Normal Season Assessments" period: 40%.

2. FINAL EVALUATION SCHEME
Work developed during the period of classes with the teacher: 40%;
Examination based on the content taught: 60%.
