The main objective of this unit is provide advanced skills and competences required for processing, analysing and interpreting data within the field of tourism studies. By the end of the semester, the students with a positive grade should be able to: a) present and discuss critically the theoretical and epistemological foundations underlying the processing and data analysis applied to the research in tourism; b) expose, distinguish and evaluate in context the use of the more suitable methodologies related to the processing and analysis of data; c) identify and know how to apply properly the various techniques of both quantitative and qualitative analysis; d) consider the use of meta-analysis and mixed-methods in tourism research; d) use the most appropriate software when dealing with the challenges in processing and analysing data on tourism.
