Students who meet the conditions that are in the UÉ Academic Regulations (RAUÉ) may apply for a reduction, waiver or exemption from tuition fees or payment by another entity, provided that they apply annually within the deadlines stipulated at the time of enrolment/registration, with the respective supporting documentation.

Recognition of the right to a special tuition fee scheme depends on the student's annual application, which must be made online at the time of enrolment/registration in the student profile , in the SIIUE , by submitting supporting documents.

In order to obtain the scheme, the student must attach proof of entitlement to the scheme to the application in SIIUE each year. See the conditions and proof required for each scheme:

In accordance with article 13º of the Tuition Fees Regulations:

1- Students applying for the specific support provided for in Decree-Law no. 358/70 of July 29 and Decree-Law no. 43/76 of January 20, to be granted by the Ministry of Defense to the University of Évora, must submit the following original documents each year at the time of registration in SIIUE, failing which the file will not be sent to the Ministry of Defense:

a) Declaration issued by the Unit, Establishment or Military Body, in accordance with the models attached to Ministerial Order no. 445/71, of August 20, attesting to combatant status, with the specifications referred to in no. 1 of Decree-Law no. 358/70, of July 29, and in no. 3 of the aforementioned Ministerial Order (Declaration required only in the 1st year of enrollment);

b) Where applicable, a document proving that you are disabled in the Armed Forces, under the terms of Decree-Law no. 43/76, of January 20th;

c) Tax residency certificates for the student and the parent from whom the right to specific support derives, issued by the Directorate-General for Finance;

d) (Negative) IRS Income Declaration, or any other document that justifies that the applicant is in a position to claim from their father, a combatant or ex-combatant, the duty of the latter to provide for their support and education.

 2- Until the Ministry of Defense receives a nominal list of successful and unsuccessful applications, students applying for this support will not be able to apply for a diploma.

3- In the event of a rejection, the student will be considered to owe the fees for the academic year(s) in which they applied for the scheme.

According to article 14º of the Tuition Fees Regulations:

1- Students on eligible courses applying for the specific support provided for in Decree-Law no. 524/73 of October 13, must submit a declaration, issued by the Directorate-General for School Establishments - Alentejo Region Services Directorate, each year at the time of enrolment in SIIUE, stating that they are covered by the provisions of no. 1 of Joint Order no. 320/2000 of March 21.

2- Eligible courses are those provided for in no. 2 of Joint Order no. 0335/98 of May 14.

3- Until the nominal list of successful and unsuccessful applications has been received and sent by the Directorate General for Higher Education, students applying for this support will not be able to apply for a diploma.

4- In the event of a rejection, the student will be considered to owe the tuition fees for the academic year(s) in which they applied for the scheme.

According to article 15º of the Tuition Fees Regulations:

Professors integrated in the teaching career of Higher Education with a contractual link to UÉvora, may request, annually at the time of registration in SIIUE:

a) exemption from doctoral tuition fees, registration fees and school insurance, for a maximum of n+2 of the duration of the course;

b) exemption from tuition fees for non-degree courses and micro-credentials/lifelong learning, for the duration of the course, as long as they have a favorable opinion from their hierarchical superior and do not receive PRR support.

According to article 16º of the Tuition Fees Regulations:

UÉvora workers with an employment contract in public functions for an indefinite period of time, enrolled or registered, may apply annually, at the time of enrollment/registration, for tuition fee exemption or reduction:

a) Enrolling and registering for a 1st cycle or integrated master's degree, the employee may request the scheme to enjoy a minimum tuition fee, up to a maximum of n+2 of the duration of the course.

 

i. in the years following entry, or in the case of re-entry, if he/she has passed at least 50% of the UC in which he/she enrolled in the previous year, or in the last year in which he/she was enrolled.

b) Enrollment and registration in 2nd and 3rd cycles, the employee can apply for the scheme to enjoy a 50% reduction in the tuition fee for the duration of the study cycle or apply for 100% exemption from the tuition fee in the 1st year of enrollment/registration. The request must be made within 10 working days of enrolment and is subject to deliberation by the Management Board.

c) Those enrolled in non-degree courses and micro-credentials/lifelong learning can enjoy a tuition fee waiver provided they have the favorable opinion of their superior.

 d) Those enrolled in curricular units may enjoy tuition fee exemption for a maximum of 2 years, provided that they cumulatively:

i. do not register for more than 30 ECTS/semester, and may never register for more than 60 ECTS in the same study cycle, under the terms of the law;

ii. attach to the request a favorable and reasoned opinion from the hierarchical superior regarding the interest of attending the courses for the duties performed by the employee.

e) If the UÉvora non-teaching worker scheme is not granted, the student may request cancellation of enrolment/registration, within 10 days of the results being announced, without being considered to be in debt of tuition fees, and the enrolment fee will be due;

f) The granting of the scheme does not exempt the employee from paying the registration fee, school insurance and other fees to which he/she is subject;

g) In the event of suspension of duties, the right to exemption from tuition fees ceases, and the employee may have to reimburse UÉvora for the amount of tuition fees he/she was exempted from, if he/she does not remain at the University of Évora for the number of years corresponding to those in which he/she was exempted from tuition fees.

According to article 17º of the Tuition Fees Regulations:

Cooperating teachers at the UÉ are pre-school, primary and secondary school and music school teachers who collaborate in the supervised teaching practice (PES) of UÉ courses that confer a professional teaching qualification.

Students on a postgraduate course who apply for cooperating teacher status each year when enrolling or registering on the SIIUE must attach a statement from the President of the Supervised Teaching Practice Coordinating Council proving their status as a cooperating teacher, and are subject to paying 50% of the tuition fee due for the academic year in which they are granted this status.

According to article 18º of the Tuition Fees Regulations:

Under the terms of the UÉ Academic Regulations, part-time students can benefit from the part-time regime if, in each academic year, they register for up to 30 ECTS .

Part-time registration must be confirmed by the student at the time of registration.

Part-time enrollment in UC D/TP/RE in the 2nd cycle or Integrated Master's Degree implies:

a) enrolment in the curricular unit in both semesters of the same academic year, if the course has up to 42 ECTS;

b) enrollment in the curricular unit in two academic years, if the course has more than 42 ECTS.

The part-time regime for the curricular unit Thesis in the 3rd cycle implies that, for each academic year in which the student opts for this regime, they will have to register for the subsequent academic year.

Part-time students must pay the fees stipulated in article 18º of the Tuition Fees Regulations , depending on the curricular units/ECTS in which they are enrolled:

a) For enrollments up to and including 15 ECTS, the minimum tuition fee stipulated annually in a rectorial order is due;

b) For enrollments of more than 15 ECTS and up to and including 30 ECTS, 70% of the annual tuition fee for the respective study cycle/course is due, or the minimum tuition fee if the amount resulting from 70% of the annual tuition fee is less than this;

c) For registration for a thesis, dissertation, internship or project work, 70% of the annual tuition fee of the respective study cycle/course is due, or the minimum tuition fee if the amount resulting from 70% of the annual tuition fee is less than this, with the student being subject to the conditions of the part-time regime stipulated in RAUÉ.

In the case of international students, 70% of the tuition fee for the academic year defined annually in a rectorial order is always due for the part-time regime, or the minimum tuition fee if the amount resulting from 70% of the annual tuition fee is less than this.

According to article 19º of the Tuition Fees Regulations:

Students who are covered by protocols established between UÉvora and the Institution to which they belong may benefit from exemption from or reduction of tuition fees, under the terms that have been agreed, and it is necessary to attach the respective protocol and declaration that they belong to the Institution to the application, to be made at the time of registration or annual enrolment.

In accordance with article 21º of the Tuition Fees Regulations:

Students whose tuition fees are paid by their employers or other institutions must, each year at the time of enrolment or registration in SIIUE, attach to the application for this scheme a statement of commitment from the paying entity certifying that it undertakes to pay the tuition fee, identifying the amount of the fee and the details for issuing the invoice (NIF and address).

Until the invoice(s) have been settled, students under this scheme will not be able to apply for a diploma.

In the event of non-payment by the paying entity, the student is considered a tuition fee debtor.

In accordance with article 22º of the Tuition Fees Regulations:

Scholarship students, or candidates for a scholarship in which the scholarship is paid directly to UÉvora (such as FCT scholarship holders), must apply annually at the time of enrollment or registration, in the SIIUE, or through an application in GESDOC, within 30 days of submitting a scholarship application or renewal of the scholarship, , attaching a statement, issued by the Entity funding the scholarship, proving acceptance of the application or Declaration that you are a scholarship holder or Declaration of renewal of the scholarship.

The scholarship statement must state the period and amount of the scholarship to be paid to UÉvora.

Award of the scholarship candidate scheme paid directly to UÉvora:

On the basis of this proof, the special scholarship candidate regime will be assigned, and this regime will be maintained until the scholarship is received by UÉvora, which must be no later than March 31 of the following academic year.

Regardless of the month in which the scholarship starts or is renewed, the scholarship candidate regime is assigned to the academic year corresponding to the date of application, if made by April 30 of that academic year, or to the start of the scholarship if the application is made in a subsequent academic year.

 

Award of the scholarship scheme - scholarship paid directly to UÉvora:

The scholarship holder scheme will be awarded when UÉvora receives the scholarship. When awarded this scheme, students are exempt from paying tuition fees, registration fees and school insurance, as long as this is included in the value of the grant.

If the scholarship is rejected:

Students who are refused a grant have 30 days after the date of notification of the refusal to submit proof of this decision, and may within this period:

(a) settle the debt for the overdue installments, without payment of the interest rate, or

b) request the cancellation of the enrolment, being released from the obligation to pay the tuition fee due and future installments, with all approvals in curricular units, credits or other curricular acts carried out being considered null and void. The registration fee is always due.

 

After 30 days of notification of the rejection, or after March 31 of the academic year following the scholarship candidate regime, if UÉvora does not receive the scholarship or has to return the scholarship to the funding entity for reasons attributable to the students, they will be considered debtors and will be subject to the penalties provided for in these regulations.

No diploma, certificate or certificate may be issued while the student remains a scholarship candidate, but proof of enrollment and registration may be issued.

In the event that the scholarship student withdraws from the course, he/she is obliged to repay the tuition fees due for the academic years in which he/she attended the course at UÉvora.

According to article 23º of the Tuition Fees Regulations:

Scholarship students, or candidates for a scholarship in which the scholarship is paid by the paying entity to the student, must apply annually at the time of enrollment or registration, in the SIIUE, or through a request in the GESDOC within 30 days of submitting the scholarship application, for the scholarship candidate or scholarship holder regime, attaching a declaration, issued by the Entity that finances the scholarship, proving acceptance of the application or proof that he/she is a scholarship holder, which includes the period and amount of the scholarship.

 

This scheme will be awarded when it is proven that the scholarship is paid directly to the student, who must pay the tuition fee by the end of the month following the month in which the scholarship was received, with no interest on arrears until that date.

Students who submit applications for scholarships within the scope of Social Action in Higher Education through UÉvora's Social Action Services do not need to submit proof of their application or notification of the outcome of the application, and the status of scholarship applicant, scholarship holder or non-scholarship holder (in the event of rejection) is recorded in the SIIUE by the Social Action Services.

Students must pay their tuition fees by the end of the month following the month in which they received their scholarship, and no interest will be charged on late payments until that date.

If the grant is rejected:

Students who are refused a grant have 30 days after the date of notification of the rejection to submit proof of this decision, and may within this period:

a) settle the debt of the overdue installments, without paying the interest rate, or

b) request the cancellation of their enrolment, being released from the obligation to pay the tuition fees due and falling due, with all approvals in curricular units, credits or other curricular acts carried out being considered null and void.

After 30 days of notification of rejection, or after March 31st of the academic year following the scholarship applicant scheme, students will be considered debtors and will be subject to the penalties provided for in these regulations.

No diploma, certificate or certificate may be issued while the student remains under the scholarship candidate regime, but proof of enrollment and registration may be issued.
