General objectives:
It is intended that the student master the correct terminology related to the design of digital and analogical information, and to be able to develop projects of this nature (information design, editorial, interfaces, suiting their target).
Competences:
Capacity for research, methodology and concept development with a view to the foundation of the projects;
Ability to analyze graphic projects and critical sense for the production of artefacts with social, cultural and economic benefits;
Design and organization capacities in the territory of signal systems for public or private spaces and access roads;
Knowledge of the processes of simplification of forms and capacities of execution of pictograms, maps, infographics, manuals of use and other elements of communication design;
Usability knowledge and skills, taking into account the interfaces of daily use artifacts.

Teaching Methods
The classes will be taught by thematic modules with insertion of topics to be discussed, introduced by the teacher as it evolves in the form of presentation. The typology of projects is essentially practical, presupposing prior research, reflection and planning.
EVALUATION
In the NORMAL SEASON assessment students may choose one of two schemes: Continuous or Final Assessment.
1. CONTINUOUS EVALUATION SCHEME
Evaluation Components:
a) Class participation: 20%;
b) Work developed during the period with the accompaniment of the teacher, which must be submitted, at least, to a periodic evaluation with public disclosure of the classifications: 40%;
c) Presentation and defense of the work developed during the classes, which occurs during the "Regular Season Evaluations": 40%.
2. FINAL EVALUATION SCHEME
a) Work developed during the period with the teacher's accompaniment: 40%;
b) Examination based on the contents taught: 60%.
