General objectives: Classes aims to provide theoretical and practical references in Communication Design with incidence in Vectorial Drawing and Editing, particularly in the Design of Logos for applications in manuals and catalogs and thus explore empirical stimuli in the context of visual perception associated with this subject. It's expected to develop analysis and critical skills; the control of the exercises' design based on functional and aesthetic criteria; planning and investigation methodologies based on well-defined concepts, through research of social, ethical, economic, ecological and cultural factors.
Specific objectives: Mastery of vectorial draw and pagination languages exploring Adobe Indesign and Adobe Illustrator softwares.
Student will have to be capable to give a professional response on an intermediary level in the context of vectorial draw to Editorial design implementation.

Teaching Methods
Based on a series of structured lessons, may resort to the Department's projects of research, commercial, competitions, conferences, seminars, workshops and discussion groups. Professionals covering a wide range of areas of experience and personal approaches develop the manuals. Aims to establish a good balance between new digital media, and traditional ones. Classes may resort to: documentary films; referential visits to classes; field trips to industrial (re) production places, studios or communication agencies.
Ongoing evaluation will take into account: regular attendance; participation in the activities; the correct methological development; observance of deadlines; the knowledge and practice progresses.The final evaluation is a time of general assessment of the journey performed by the student, based on its ability to respond to the brief, specifically in the quality of execution, presentation and communication skills.
Attendance - 10%; Mid-term 50%; Final evaluation 40%
