Contents

- Syllabus of each area of teaching including music ensemble of the conservatories and music schools. Curriculum guidelines: from past to present and future.
- The syllabus in each area of teaching, in use in specialist music training schools in Portugal.
- Observation, characterization and critical analysis of the educational reality.
- Educational action and evaluation.
- Institutions and concepts of quality in education and training.

Teaching Methods

- This is an annual curricular unit, which includes moments of participant observation for contact and un-derstanding of the educational context and teaching sequences of 1st, 2nd 3rd cycle .
- Guidance of students towards observation, analysis and intervention in schools.
- Discussion and critical analysis of problematic situations in the educational context.
- Monitoring of the planning and design of the project.
- Evaluation of the project intervention.
- Assessment, guidance and supervision of interventions.
- Presentation and discussion of the course report.

Assessment

Formative assessment is the preferred modality, being participated by students and supervisors in moments of cooperative supervision, culminating with the elaboration of the PES report.

Summative assessment has two components: PES performance rating developed in schools - 65%; classification resulting from the Jury's appreciation of the PES Report and its public discussion – 35%.
