Learning Goals
The main purpose of the History of Portugal program is to provide students with a comprehensive, diachronic and complementary view of national history around major themes of economic, social, political and cultural history with approaches to raise awareness of different types of cultural heritage. Knowledge -Know the political dynamics and the foundations of the socio-economic organization of the History of Portugal - Know the main cultural phenomena and their social impacts - Raise awareness of historiographical debates on the topics under study - Understand and correctly use the appropriate concepts Skills - Develop historical thinking, taking into account the analysis of conjunctures and changes -Mastering the conceptual vocabulary used in the various subject areas. -Know the basics regarding recent historiographical issues Skills -Develop knowledge autonomously -Develop writing and speaking skills.

1.Contemporary Portugal: Reform of the Enlightenment 18th I. 2. Portugal and the French invasions; Liberal Revolution of 182 3. Time for Constitutional Liberalism and Romanticism. 4. The Regeneration 1851 Progress in Portugal. Political-economic-cultural paths of development. 5. Colonial empire in Africa and Asia occupation of territory; vision of republican thought in constitutional monarchy. 6. The First Portuguese Republic: 1910-1926. Portugal's participation in the First World War 1914-18. Impact of centenary celebrations. 7. Estado Novo in Portugal. 140 Centenary; after World War II and Portuguese fascism. Colonial War (1961-1974) 6. Carnation Revolution 25 April 1974. New paths for Portugal in global history. 7. Portugal in the European Community 1986: closing the objectives of the 3D's democracy, decolonization, development. 8. Teaching Methods
The teaching methodologies are diversified, combining oral presentation by the professor with the development of students' abilities to build critical thinking about the syllabus, autonomy in the teaching-learning process and self-assessment. These methodologies value participatory learning that invests in intervention and debate in the classroom and in demonstrating the ability to organize, systematize and analyze information.
The Moodle platform will be used for the development of teaching activities and for the execution of the tasks proposed to the students, showing their involvement.

Assessment
Continuous assessment (there may be equivalent alternative models):
- Attendance at the end of the semester, with all the subject matter of the subject (55%).
- Presentation of three written assignments (1300 to 1500 words) (30%)
- Oral presentation of a topic from the programme (15%)
Final evaluation:
