Mental Health is influenced by multiple health determinants, needing to be uncovered and better understood in the childhood and adolescence population group. The genesis of emotional and behavioral disorders reveals the experience of difficulties at mental health, that professionals need to understand, identify, assess and monitorizating. This UC intends to prepare master's students for intervention in the school context, being able to:
- Analyze international, European and national indicators of mental health in childhood and adolescence;
- Understand the mental illness in childhood and adolescence;
- Map scientific evidence of mental health nursing in the school health, choosing references based on protective factors in mental health;
- Plan sensitive therapeutic intervention care of Mental Health Nursing, for individual and group clients in the School context, by project methodology.

- The value of the communicability of symptoms of children and adolescents in the school context;
- Protective Factors of mental health and Nursing Phenomena that promote mental health in childhood and adolescence;
- Design of Socio-emotional Competence Learning Project;
- Therapeutic intervention of mental health nursing in childhood and adolescence (individual and group client), family and educational community;

Teaching Methods
The UC will take place using theoretical and theoretical-practical learning through the expositive-participative method, using group dynamics and psychosociodramatic techniques. Use of distance learning methodologies to carry out tutoring to projects.
Assessment
According to the Academic Regulations of the University of Évora, students can choose between the continuous assessment system or the examination system. It is intended that continuous assessment be prioritized, which will be carried out through: Assessment: Carrying out a social and emotional skills project (80% integrating the therapeutic dimension of mental health nursing intervention) and presentation of the project (20%).
The assessment by exam will comprise a written test, covering all the material taught and weighing 100% of the final grade.
To pass the UC, the student must have at least 9.5 points in each of the components.
