Contents

1 – Situations of Emergency, Exception and Catastrophe
• Conceptualization of health care in emergency, exception and catastrophe situations
• Management of emergency, exception and catastrophe situations
• Definition of accident scenario
• Characterization of available means
2– Conceptualization of Emergency, Exception and Catastrophe Plans
• Interaction between the various bodies, services and structures that intervene in exceptional and catastrophic situations
• Principles of screening and performance
• Removal, stabilization and evacuation of victims
• Impact assessment on professional teams
3- Care for the victim of Violence, Mistreatment and Neglect
• Collection, Preservation and Documentation of Evidence (forensic remains)
• Ethical-legal aspects.

Teaching Methods

Teaching model centered on the student and the group, which favors the sharing of perspectives in the analysis of situations, in view of the defined learning objectives. It is intended that the methodology leads to the development of the student’s critical-reflexive capacity, in the design of strategic team plans, which can place special emphasis on the adequacy of knowledge, iniciative, leadership and creativity. Expository method/ Seminar / Group work/ Case analysis/ Simulations/ Brainstorming / Visualization and critical reflection of films. The continuous evaluation includes: Scientific Poster and respective summary developed in group of 3-4 students, with oral presentation in the classroom. The final result is obtained through Peer Review (30%) and Teacher Review (70%). The evaluation by exam contemplates the individual realization of a poster and its oral presentation and defense before two teachers.
