Presentation
This CU aims to present potential dissertation subjects, as well as the study design, methodologies to apply and analysis of the results.
Sustainable Development Goals
Learning Goals
This CU acts as the forerunner of the dissertation project, and aims to provide students with the necessary and sufficient skills for a successful completion of their dissertations. The constructive criticism that the teachers will make in each seminar session is intended to consolidate this goal and ensure the best conditions in terms of knowledge and skills on the part of students for the safe and effective development of their dissertation projects.
The CU also aims to anticipate the role of the scientific supervisor in order for the student to feel supported throughout the several stages of the dissertation.
In all, it is intended that students:
1. Develop and consolidate a critical thinking on the methodologies used in research in bioarchaeology;
2. Be able to elaborate research questions and to outline the necessary procedures to obtain the respective answers;
3. Acquire the best skills in oral scientific communication;
4. Incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals.

Teaching Methods
S: four seminar sessions in which each student will present his/her dissertation topic and the several aspects and circumstances surrounding it at each of the moments. The role of professors will be focused on constructive criticism of the presentation, highlighting the parts that should be improved.
Assessment
Evaluation will focus on the oral presentations and subsequent written reports made by each individual student over the four sessions, each having the same proportion (1/4) in the final classification.
In each session there will be a critical and public discussion by the discipline jury of the various proposals presented by students, either in oral form (with audio-visual support) and in written form (report). The non-continuous assessment will involve the delivery of a final report and respective oral presentation.
