Sustainable Development Goals
Learning Goals
The knowledge to be acquired by students is focused on developing the abilities to identify and interpret the identitarian elements of a city and of architecture. The interpretation of space ? as a fundamental concept in the experience learned in the previous semester ? meets this semester with the interpretation and practice of the creative act of architecture. We will seek to motivate students to:
a) develop communication skills through critical observation and analysis of the city and architecture;
b) learn subject-specific vocabulary;
c) develop interpretation and knowledge of paradigmatic examples of architecture and in architectural creation;
d) apply knowledge and skills in a project exercise.
The skills to be acquired and/or developed are:
- group work
- use of design instruments
- understanding of concepts: scale, functionality, materiality, unity, modular, etc.

Contents
Deepening the study begun in the previous semester regarding the organization, composition and functionality of space, developing the means of communication in architecture: hand drawing, model, text and presentation.
1. Exer 1. City of Évora as a place of intervention, as a result of a temporal overlap, providing the exploration of concepts such as proportion, contrast and tension, ergonomics, habitability, environments, textures, etc.
2. Exer 2. Architectural culture (cont.): developing the Project I statement, getting to know the work of a referencial architect (national or international), exploring the concept of module.
3. Exer 3. Architecture: introduction to minimal living, exploring Le Corbusier's Modulor, defining actions in the use of private space.

Teaching Methods
Continuing with UC Project I (odd semester), classes will be taught in a practical and laboratory format, for a total of 12 hours of contact per week, plus 6 hours of tutorial support.
The program contents will be introduced by the teacher through interactive lessons, inside or outside the classroom, with audiovisual support, conferences, study visits, workshops and monitoring (individual or group) of work.
The exercises are to be developed in class, under the guidance of the teacher.
Oral presentation and the production of feedback by students to their peers are encouraged. Assessment is continuous and formative, resulting from the monitoring of work throughout the semester, and will be carried out based on the demonstration of mastery of the content taught. Students will be asked to propose rubrics.

Assessment
The grade is the result of a continuous assessment system (a minimum grade of 9/20 is required to access the final assessment during the exam period).
Attendance at classes is mandatory (75% of classes). In case of exceeding the number of absences, the student may take the exam during the resit period. Taking the special exam and the extraordinary exam must be previously validated by the Academic Services.
It consists of two preliminar exercises, attendance/participation, complementary exercises, and a design exercise (03) to be deliver and presented during the exam period.
Final Grade = 0.5 x [(0.1xExerc01) + (0.2xExerc02) + (0.5xExerc03) + (0.1xAss/part) + (0.1xExercComp)] + (0.5xFinal) = greater than or equal to 10 (ten) points.
