Module 0. Presentation of the theoretical frame of reference
Delimitation of key concepts: Ethics, Morals, Deontology, Sustainable Development, Social Responsibility and Business Ethics
Module 1. Ethics of and in Organizations
1.1. Presentation of a set of ethical and social responsibility theories of organizations
1.2. From management by ethical culture to responsible leadership
1.3. The role of codes of ethics and conduct in the creation of a management model based on ethical culture
1.4. Ethical decision models Application of a framework to support the resolution of ethical dilemmas

Teaching Methods
The methods of teaching and learning in this couse consisting in:
- Using the lecture method for presenting and clarifying the theoretical framework.
- Critical analysis of a set of ethical and conduct codes of diverse organizations.
- Application of a framework in resolving ethical dilemmas, using for this purpose small but diverse case studies.
The teaching team will systematically use the University of Évora's e-learning platform (Moodle) as a repository of relevant information and as a communication platform to enhance the creation of an active community of learning and critical reflection on the themes addressed in the UC.
- Using the lecture method for presenting and clarifying the theoretical framework.
- Critical analysis of a set of ethical and conduct codes of diverse organizations.
- Application of a framework in resolving ethical dilemmas, using for this purpose small but diverse case studies.
The teaching team will systematically use the University of Évora's e-learning platform (Moodle) as a repository of relevant information and as a communication platform to enhance the creation of an active community of learning and critical reflection on the themes addressed in the UC.
Assessment
The continuous evaluation process of this course consists of two elements:
1. Written work (groups of 3 to 4 students) 60%
This evaluation element will include:
a) Collection of the latest Sustainability Report published by two organisations, at least one of which must be based in Portugal (at the group's choice, but both from the same sector of activity);
b) Critical and comparative analysis of the two Reports referred to in the previous point
c) Oral presentation and prior discussion of the work projects, "Work in Progress" will be mandatory.
2. Written test (individual, with consultation) 40%
The minimum grade of any element provided for in the continuous evaluation process is 7 (seven) points.
Evaluation Regime by Exam
This evaluation regime will consist of a written test on the overall content of the curricular unit, the test will be without consultation and will have a weighting of 100%.
