Learning Goals

This seminar aims to support students for writing their dissertations, namely in selecting and applying research methods - with special emphasis on strengthening knowledge and the use of quantitative methods. In this context, students will have contact with specific themes in the field of research methodologies and techniques for presenting scientific results, particularly in the field of International Relations and European Studies. This approach aims to provide students with theoretical and practical tools that will enable them to conduct autonomous, rigorous research geared towards producing relevant knowledge in their areas of study.

Contents

1. Presentations of different methodological approaches in the field of International Relations and European Studies.
2. Exploration of qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods applied to International Relations and European Studies.
3. Techniques for organising and presenting research results.

Teaching Methods

The teaching methodological approach of the seminar is centred on the presentation of specific themes in the area of research methodologies, as well as practical exercises, debates and the presentation of scientific results in the field of International Relations and European Studies.

Assessment

The continuous and final assessments corresponds to the elaboration of a dissertation proposal (70%) and its presentation by the student (30 %).
