Contents

1. Theoretical background: Epistemological Bases
1.1. General systems theory and cybernetics
1.2. Understanding fundamental systemic
1.3. Changing and evolving systems
1.4. The Pragmatics of Human Communication

2. The family in a systemic perspective
2.1. Development and Family Life Cycle Family
2.2. Evaluation of family functioning
2.3. Intervention with Families

Teaching Methods

Theoretical classes: exposition of the programmatic contents.
Practical classes: analysis, discussion and reflection of practical situations and relation to the theoretical programmatic content.
Guidance tutorial: follow up and support students to the group work.

Continuous assessment:
a) individual/peer work, reflection and integration of the contents exposed in the theoretical classes, viewing, analysis and discussion of a film (10%);
b) group work (2 to 3 students) to present in the practical classes: In the papers to be presented, students should consider the contents of the curricular unit family psychology and relevant aspects in the scope of family study (25%).
c) Frequency test (65%).
Exam: written test theoretical (55%); b) written test practical/work (45%).

Theoretical and practical classes are compulsory (minimum attendance of 75%).
