Teaching Methods

The expository method is used for theoretical content, with critical reflection through the discussion of practical situations that illustrate the application of this content;
Active methods are used for practical content:
- Research activities and autonomous work, with the teacher's guidance. E.g. choosing a current news item related to work and/or organisations, the content of which the student must support with a review of the Organisational Psychology literature, to understand the phenomenon reported in the news item. This process is co-constructed with the lecturer in individual tutorials. It is then presented and discussed with fellow students, mediated by the lecturer.
- Lectures by organisational psychologists on their professional practices, encouraging debate and student participation. Based on their discourse, students produce a report in which they substantiate, using relevant literature, the activities mentioned by the psychologist.

Assessment

Continuous assessment is carried out as follows:
-frequency (40%);
-individual oral presentation of a current news item (written or broadcast) explained using the topics covered in the course (40%);
-individual report on a visit to by one of the 3 psychologists who have been invited, the aim of which is to articulate the information they provide with the course contents (20%).

Final assessment:
-final exam (65%);
-individual oral presentation of a news item (written or broadcast) explained using the topics covered in the course (to be presented on the date of the exam; 35%).

The presentation of each piece of news, in continuous assessment, will have the express participation of two students who are not the authors of the work being analysed (animators), so each student who presents must ensure the collaboration of two colleagues as animators of the work.
