Learning Goals
		  		      1. Understand psychological Assessment (PA) and its historical conceptual framework with other knowledge and practices in Psychology
2. Understand the logic behind the use of different assessment methods and processes in other contexts of psychological practice
3. Be familiar with issues associated with the use of the various PA methods (principles, characteristics, circumstances of application and quotation)
4. Develop PA skills by training in techniques (interviewing) and analyzing protocols for some of the most significant instruments (tests, scales, observation grids)
5. Critically analyzing information and results obtained with assessment instruments and techniques (potential and limitations), also considering their suitability for those being assessed
6. Understanding the importance of social demands and ethical and deontological issues and their implications for professional practice in PA
7. Become aware of self characteristics with implications for PA practice

Teaching Methods
		  		      Expository/active methods for theoretical content
learning-centered, starting from case studies to the theory that underpins their understanding, followed by critical reflection with students; response to post-class questionnaires/quizzes, for self-assessment and self-regulation of learning, using digital tools (e.g. Kahoot!); presentation and discussion of selected digital content (e.g. Ted Talks).
Active methods for practical content
observation/training of psychological assessment (PA) activities (e.g. application and scoring of paper and online tests (platforms, e.g. Hogrefe), interpretation of results, construction of scripts and simulated interviews, with students taking on the role of interviewers and interviewees; construction and use of observation grids in real (community observation training) and simulated situations). These activities promote the acquisition of practical skills essential to PA (e.g. observation skills, attention, critical reflection).

Assessment
		  		      Continuous assessment:
- Frequency assessment of theoretical knowledge (40%);
- Research work to assess knowledge and skills in the construction and/or use of PA methods and techniques in research with tutorial guidance (group work; 30%);
- PA report, to assess the knowledge and skills acquired in the construction and/or use of PA methods and techniques applied to professional PA practice. This presupposes prior attendance and participation in practical classes where simulations are made of the application of assessment tests and interviews. The results of these simulated practices are used in the construction of the report that is carried out in the practical classes with the support and supervision of the teacher (individual work; 30%).
Final assessment:
- Exam to assess theoretical knowledge (70%);
- Research work (same as described for continuous assessment) (individual work; 30%).
