Presentation
Development of an individual project, carried out under supervision, in one of the modalities: scientific research project, experimental scientific work or work in a professional environment, or monograph, with a scientific review on a topic in the area of Biomedical Sciences and Health.

-To provide knowledge in the scientific advances in the area of Biomedicine and Health and the impact of its application on society, as well as the ethical issues associated with it;
- To educate for health, providing students with knowledge, attitudes and values that can help them make decisions that imply the improvement of their health and those around them;
- To learn how to define a project, assess its costs, implement and improve a technique, extracting results from it;
-To put into practice skills developed throughout the course;
-To search, gather and analyse the most relevant bibliography;
-To analyze, interpret and discuss data according to current knowledge;
To develop: oral and written communication skills, and multidisciplinary teamwork; responsible behavior and in accordance with ethical and deontological rules, whether in a professional or academic environment, and even acting with respect for industrial and/or intellectual property.

Contents
This is a curricular unit with a fixed component, covering fundamental concepts for the preparation of oral presentations and scientific reports, and systematic bibliographic research methodologies.
The classes/lectures will take the form of seminars that integrate the knowledge and skills obtained throughout the course, emphasizing recent research in Biomedicine and in the area of Health Sciences, and their interdisciplinarity.
It also has an open program component whose contents are variable and according to an individual work plan carried out under supervision, according to the research areas of the professors and supervisory researchers, and in an integrative perspective of the knowledge obtained throughout the course.
Students can choose one of the following modalities: scientific research project, experimental scientific work or work in a professional environment, or monograph, with scientific review on the subject.

Teaching Methods
In-person classes/lectures by professors and/or invited professors/researchers. Use of the Moodle platform and audiovisual media.
Reflection on current and emerging issues based on articles from specialist journals.
The evaluation of the discipline will consist of the presentation of two works: 1) critical approach of scientific articles on the themes presented by the faculty and elaboration of a project work plan (30%); 2) the bibliographical review on the topic chosen by the student or, in the case of choosing to carry out a work in an academic/professional environment, the respective Report; in both cases, the works will be supervised by a professor/researcher and, at the end, they will be presented and evaluated in written and oral support in front of the Jury (70%).
