Teaching Methods

The teaching methodologies aim for a permanent articulation between theoretical foundations, research and psychological practices, always seeking the active participation of students during the development of the syllabus.
The theoretical classes, although more focused on the exposition of the syllabus, aim to develop the students' critical and reflective spirit, through the analysis and discussion of theoretical models and their application to practical situations. Practical classes focus on analysis, discussion and reflection of practical situations; in analyzing ethical issues and dilemmas and in counseling skills training. Activities of a diverse nature are developed (oral and written works, role-playing, video analysis, etc.) and knowledge of research carried out within the scope of psychological counseling is encouraged. All necessary materials are available on the Moodle platform, where discussion groups are also organized

Assessment

Continuous assessment: a) individual written work, about a case conceptualization and/or analysis of a psychological report with the development of intervention proposals (50%); b) group work about a analysis counseling and psychological intervention cases (30%); c) two or three small individual works of grounded and reflective analysis of topics analyzed in classes (20%). Group work is presented orally and discussed in class, with feedback given and improvement of the final written work possible.
Final assessment: written test on the subject taught, including case conceptualization and/or analysis of a psychological report with the development of intervention proposals (65%); b) individual work analyzing a case of counseling and psychological intervention (35%).
There may be an oral discussion of the assessment tests and assignments.
Theoretical and practical classes are mandatory (minimum attendance of 75%)
