Learning Goals

This course has as its major purpose to present a methodological framework for understanding the organization and management activities, using the tools of Organizational Behavior (OB).
Objetives:
O1Provide students with the fundamental knowledge, from the OB in order to build a holistic and dynamic perspective of organization.
O2 Studying the different variables of the OB on the perspective of major schools of thought.
O3 Provide the students with a behavioral/humanist perspective because it is believed to be the most effective way to achieve sustainable success for business and for the organization.
O4 Promoting research capacity and critical analysis of the students regarding the understanding of organizational phenomena.
Skills:
Promote critical thinking and citizenship.
Promote oral and written communication.
The ability to encourage teamwork.
Present instruments, sources and references that encourage the research capacity of students.

Teaching Methods

Association of the presentation of concepts and theoretical approaches (for expository method) to characterize and reflect on experiences, active participation by students. Presentation and analysis of case studies to validate the various models and theories of organizational behavior.
The teaching team will systematically use the University of Évora's e-learning platform (Moodle) as a repository of relevant information and as a communication platform to enhance the creation of an active community of learning and critical reflection on the models, theories and constructs of the vast and transdisciplinary area of CO.

Assessment

The continuous assessment process of this course unit consists of three types of components:

1. Carrying out a written work in a group (40%), to be submitted on the Moodle platform.
The Group Work document must have a maximum of 15 pages, and must include the following items:
Study and comparative analysis of two scientific articles, to be selected by the students, considering Scopus or Web of Sciences indexing, which will be previously validated by the teaching team.
In-depth discussion in critical and scientific terms of the most important aspects analyzed in the selected scientific articles, using other credible bibliographic references on the topic under study.
2. Oral presentation of Work in Progress, carried out in groups (10%).
3. Carrying out an individual written test, with consultation, which will consist of the critical analysis of a Case Study, through the answer to a set of questions formulated by the teaching team (50%).
