Objectives:
The course has the great purpose to present the organizational culture as the context in which they create the foundation of ethical and socially responsible management.
O1 Present the organizational culture as the "soul" of organizations and as a system of values.
O2 List the macro variable "Organizational Culture" with a set of contextual variables of Organizational Behavior.
O3 Present a set of key concepts in content and scope.
O4 Emphasize the advantages of formalization of ethics in the form of codes of ethics and conduct / ethics.
O5 Affirm the importance of models of ethical decision.
Skills:
* Promote the spirit and capacity for analytical reasoning
* Endow students ethical reasoning that allows them to resolve ethical dilemmas organizational.
* Make the critical thinking and citizenship.
* Promote the oral and written communication.
* Encourage the ability to work as a team.

Module 1. Clarification of the concept of organizational culture
Module 2. Manifestations, analysis levels and functions of organizational culture
Module 3. From management by values to management by ethical culture - the foundation for the establishment of organizational ethical climates
Module 4. Delimitation and evolution of key concepts: Ethics, Morals, Professional Ethics, Sustainable Development, Social Responsibility, Business Ethics - analysis of a set of ethical theories
Module 5. Organizational Ethics and Professional Conduct - The role of the ethical codes
Module 6. Models of ethical decision - Application of a framework for resolving ethical dilemmas

Teaching Methods
The methodology used in will support the lecture method only for the presentation of the basic concepts and tools of analysis.
The aim is to focus on joint reflection, with the participation of students from the analysis of small handouts and case studies, and opportunity-to-date and further raise the systematization of ideas and implementation and validation of theoretical models.
They can also be performed research papers and document analysis, to be held individually and in groups, on topics of the program.
The teaching team will systematically use the University of Évora's e-learning platform (Moodle) as a repository of relevant information and as a communication platform to enhance the creation of an active community of learning and critical reflection on the topics of organizational culture, ethics and corporate social responsibilty.

Assessment
The continuous assessment process includes three mandatory assessment components:
1) Resolution of a Case Study in a group (4 elements), with consultation, with a weighting of 30%.
2) Oral Presentation, on the research of examples of Good Practices, Case Studies, Projects, News, among other materials with scientific and pedagogical relevance, which illustrate the topics of the various modules of the program, in a manner to be defined by the teaching team. This element will be developed in a group (the same 4 elements) and will have a weight of 15%.
3) An individual Written Test, in person, with consultation, with a weighting of 55%.
The minimum grade for any element provided for in the continuous assessment process is 7 points.
Exame: Students who do not participate in the continuous assessment process or do not complete the process will have the opportunity to take an exam on all the contents of the program and with a weighting of 100%.
