Sustainable Development Goals

Learning Goals

The aim of this course is to consolidate the knowledge in terms of petrogenetic processes associated with the formation of igneous and metamorphic rocks according to their geodynamic context.
Students must develop skills that enable them to understand the chemical and geodynamic evolution of the earth's crust, based on petrographic, geochemical (elementary and isotopic), geochronological and geodynamic analysis related with igneous and metamorphic systems, as well as the supergenic processes that promote transformation on chemistry and paragenesis of the original rocks.

Teaching Methods

1- Lectures and practical lessons: Introductory theoretical lessons followed by active participation of the students. In addressing the issues, including case studies, we intend to apply various methods of discussion and resolution of specific problems.
2- Fieldwork: Entirely practical component allowing the contextualization of problems on the field.
3- Tutorial orientation: Monitoring of students performed on the Moodle platform (e-learning).
Evaluation.
4- Continua l evaluation throughout the semester by the assessment of exercises carried out by the students in practical classes (30% of the final result) and final examination of theoretical-practical character (70% of the final result).
