MUS-E in Cruz da Picada - A SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PROJECT BY ARTS

The aim of the MUS-E Project is to promote the social integration of the children who live in underprivileged areas, in the situations of vulnerability and possible social exclusion (precariousness of the family, social exclusion, drug-addiction...) by means of performing artistic activities.The programme emphasises the importance of dialogue and interaction between different cultures, as well as the development of creativity and imagination by practice of artistic disciplines as a fundamental basis for the education of the children.The work is carried out through theatre, dance, music and fine arts workshops, organised by artists on active service with a high artistic training and pedagogical experience. The evaluation carried out has shown that the children, as well as the teachers of the school centres value positively the implementation of this programme because of its positive social, educational and artistic results.
