Summary

In this project is intended that the school can register and study the local, regional and worlwide seismicity. To achieve this objective, teachers and students should have all the material means (seismological station) and the knowledge necessary. The net that produces data and the informatic means that permit the realisation of the main tasks of a little seismological observatory will have the objective of identifying seismic phases, determination of epicentral distance and calculating magnitude.

Goals

  • Facilitar a educação científica ao nível dos ensinos não superior através do estabelecimento de um programa de colaboração entre a comunidade educativa e científica, em torno do tema sismologia.

Activities

  • Instaladas estação sismológica didáctica - escolas Sec. de Arraiolos e de Reguengos;
  • Instalações em curso - escolas Sec. A. Garrett (V.N. de Gaia) e Severim de Faria (Évora);
  • Realizações de acções de formação a professores do Sec.;
  • Ver Projecto EXPER.
