Goal:
To develop knowledge about the scientific research process considering in the area of Obstetric Maternal Health (OMH)
Evidence knowledge for practice and ethics, respecting human rights and professional responsibilities

Skills:
Understanding Research and Evidence-Based Practice as developmental factors in the profile of common and specific competences of Nursing Maternal Health Specialists.
Communicates the steps of the research process and its elements
Describes and analyse quantitative and qualitative research features which was developed on the area of OMH
Make decisions in the preparation of research protocol and also on the collection of information in Scientific Databases (SDB) and sources in the OMH area, to the management of bibliographic references
Understands the use of ethical and deontological principles
Communicates his/her research reasoning through tools/programs
Reveals self-learning skills in the area of research in OMH

Teaching Methods

Theoretical master class, which provides more abstract contents; Theoretical-practical classes are used for more practical contents, allow greater dynamics for access, training and use of Scientific Databases, tools. This will allow the construction of knowledge, on the essential foundation between the conceptualization and the operationalization of knowledge. Dialogue will be stimulated, through the exposition and discussion of cases, in order to stimulate critical thinking.


Assessment

The evaluation continues as follows:
1st model: Elaboration of individual work that could constitute a research project
2nd model: Argued oral defence of the project
Final score = 70% model 1 + 30% model 2
Evaluation by normal and appeal examinations are carried out in accordance with UÉ regimentation
