It is a UC that aims to train students in qualitative research in the interpretation of natural phenomena related to the person and psychomotricity.

Contents
1) Introduction to qualitative methodology
1.1 Origin and framework of the qualitative methodology,
1.2 Qualitative paradigm: Ethnography, Phenomenology, Grounded Theory, Case Study and Biography,
1.3 Concept of triangulation,
1.4 Ethical issues in qualitative methodology.
2) Qualitative research process
2.1 Identification of the problem and formulation of questions,
2.2 Data collection instruments: Participant observation and Interview; focus group, life stories; narratives; documentary / audiovisual analysis,
2.3 Data encoding processes,
2.4 Analysis and interpretation of data: Content analysis; discourse analysis, hermeneutic analysis,
2.5 Auxiliary programs in the analysis, potential and limitations, such as ALCESTE, NVIVO and WEBQDA.
3) Presentation and dissemination of data - essay writing

Teaching Methods
The classes take place in the third half. In the lectures shall be used to more expository method, always appealing to concrete examples. In theoretical and practical application of various activities of the theoretical concepts of the course will be made, students will be asked to practical work for the analysis of articles in order to allow them to identify the assumptions of this type of research. Intending also develop knowledge of the use of software for data analysis in qualitative research several practical exercises will be executed.
The final evaluation of the course will be done through:
- Participation in classes with practical exercises requested 10% of the total assessment
- Written work of an individual nature 90% of the total assessment
The evaluation by Exam will be carried out through a written test
