Learning Goals

Taking into account the need for knowledge of artistic techniques for the construction of the artwork, it is intended:
– Conduct research and experimentation of techniques, technologies and materials, developing and/or deepening new or already acquired knowledge, in the digital, bi or three-dimensional areas.
– Structure and develop a work, with a personalized and coherent speech, elaborated through individual research. Aiming at the practical application of the chosen artistic techniques and acquired knowledge, demonstrate progression and in-depth knowledge through personal research.

Contents

– Practical research methodology.
– Acquisition of new knowledge or deepening of specific techniques and/or techniques of interest to the students and their project, within the scope of personal expression practices.
– Preparation of an individual project for application and consolidation of the work developed.
– Think with the objective of practical application of the chosen artistic techniques that encompass the knowledge of Digital Techniques, Sculpture, Painting, Drawing, Photography, Printmaking, Video, Installation, Sound Art, among other more contemporary expression techniques.

Teaching Methods

– Laboratory sessions that can be taught as a block according to the students needs;
– Presentation of the research carried out in the area chosen by each student;
– Further study of the selected area;
– Laboratory plastic experimentation.
The assessment includes:
– Summary of the objectives and general contents of the understanding of the practice;
– Materialization and plastic and expressive mastery of the technique(s) studied;
– Experimentation, creativity and conceptual rigor.
Continuous assessment scheme:
a) Class participation: 20%;
b) Work developed during the period with the teacher, which should be subjected to at least a periodic evaluation with public disclosure of classifications: 40%;
c) Presentation and defense of the work developed during the classes, which takes place during the "Regular Season Evaluations": 40%.
Final evaluation scheme:
a) Work developed in with the teacher: 40%;
b) Examination based on the contents taught: 60%.
