Through this course the student will acquire skills to plan and write his master's dissertation

Learning Goals

Guide the student through the processes and methods of scientific research that allows him (her) to adequately identify scientific questions and problems worth investigating, as well as to construct the right hypothesis and objectives for the research. Also guide the student in the process of carefully presenting research methodology and relate materials, as well as craft meaningful results, discuss them and conclude, through papers, seminars and his (her) master thesis. Enhance his (her) capacity to critically analyse scientific documents and papers, and construct his (her) own scientific paper.

Teaching Methods

Seminars, critical analysis and writing about scientific work and recommended readings. Preparation and handing-in of selected homework on topics of the syllabus and a final homework on preparation and presentation to the of the plan of his (her) dissertation to be carried out in the field, laboratory or elsewhere.
