Students have their first contact with the dissertation plan they will develop, which will be improved and detailed, enhancing the positive aspects and being prepared for any unforeseen events.

Learning Goals

Obtaining skills for professional or scientific application of the MSc subjects. Skills in oral and written communication in science and in the in organization of scientific work. Promote discussion with other colleagues during public presentation of the students work.

Training how to deal with the organization and structure of a technical and scientific working plan;
Training of oral presentation of scientific and technical subjects;
Training of advanced bibliographic search;
Training of scientific writing of reports, papers and thesis;
Group discussions and interactive defense of the dissertation plan.

Teaching Methods

Individual coaching and collective seminars are the basic teaching methods of the discipline. The evaluations has two components:
(I) an oral presentation;
(II) a synthesis of the Master thesis working plan. The presentation is done before the two professors that share the classes of the curricular unit and a third element specialist in the Master thesis subject. This presentation has a scoring grid for clarity of speech, deepness of concepts and scientific quality, and the jury elements score.
