Develops the activities foreseen in the internship project, focusing on the care process
Assumes the coordination of the care process and discusses it with the team
Carries out all stages of the nursing process, using diagnostic and evaluation instruments deemed appropriate, taking into account the contexts
Delegates and supervises the care provided by generalist nurses
Makes an analysis and critical reflection of the process of developing specialized skills in clinical practice
Justifies choices based on theorization and scientific evidence
Prepares a report that meets the requirements for public examinations

Contents

Application in clinical practice of diagnostic and assessment tools for specialized nursing care in mental health and psychiatric, the person and family, taking into account the different contexts, and its consequent evaluation;
Process of care to the person with mental disorder or at risk of developing it, family, group or community, in inpatient context and/or community context and/or context of differentiated responses, according to the internship project planning;
Management process and care leadership.
Justification of choices, based on theorization and scientific evidence.
In addition to the clinical content the student is individually guided to the writing of a report linked to the experience of the Internship of Professional Nature and must demonstrate the acquisition of scientific writing and communication skills.

Teaching Methods

Clinical practice with people and families, groups and/or communities with a mental disorder or at risk of developing it.
Contexts: Psychiatric hospitalization; Community Care Units/community intervention teams and/or response context. The contexts are defined in the individual ship project and are linked to the Internship in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing and are also explained in the internship report.
Clinical supervision – nurse specialist in mental health and psychiatric nursing (ESMP) in the clinical context.
Pedagogical supervision – ESMP School teacher who accompanies the student in the internship project, in both internships and in the internship report and is chosen by the student.
Final evaluation:
Clinical Component: 50% (35% professor and clinical advisor + 15% student)
Report: 50%
Minimum admissible grade of 10 values in each component.
The UC is only concluded after the public discussion of the Report.
