Contents

1. Historical development of psychoanalysis.
1.2. Freud and the theory of drives: the topographic model, the structural model.
1.3 Developments after Freud:
1. 3.1. Object relations theory - the contributions of M. Klein
1.3.2. The school of Winnicott
1.3.3. Self Psychology and the theory of Heinz Kohut
1.3.4. The main ideas of Sidney Blatt
1.3.5. The Carl Rogers framework
1.3.6. Maslow contributions
1.3.7. Contemporary psychoanalytic perspectives: the intersubjectivity and relational perspectives.
2. Human functioning from the psychoanalytic framework: Psychosis, depression, narcissism, and borderline disorder

Teaching Methods

Lectures - presentation of issues with the aid of practical examples that facilitate understanding. The practical classes (15) 120 minutes are devoted to practical studies of articles on the theories of different authors and the achievement of group work.
Tutorial - to monitoring of Theoretical and practical work.
Continuous Assessment Scheme
Continuous assessment:
1 - Presentation of group work on an author (30% of final grade).
2 - Conceptualization of a case, an analytical point of view, (50% of final grade )
3 - Planning, dissemination, and implementation of classes open to the community taking place throughout the semester on various themes, (20% of final grade).
Deemed to be approved students who obtain a final grade equal to or greater than 10 (ten), students may not have a grade below 7.5 in any evaluations.
Exam- a written test on all materials developed in the syllabus, considering approved students who obtain a final grade equal to or greater than 10 (ten).
