Objectives:
Obtain basic accounting notions and understand the financial statements of sports organizations Obtain management accounting, budget and management control concepts; Understand the design of sports projects, the needs of planning and management and sports projects; Know the main evaluation criteria of sports projects.

Skills:
When finishing the course students should be spayed to collect and interpret critically relevant scientific information on the topics discussed. Develop the ability to communicate, in oral and written form, organized in a coherent and logical way on this issue under the unit.

Introduction to Financial Accounting
Management Accounting, Budgeting and Management Control
Management of sports projects
Design and evaluation of sports projects

Teaching Methods

The unit is organized into lectures and tutorials according to the regulation school of the University of Évora.
Although it is a course where the theoretical aspects have much relevance try to present practical examples that allow a better understanding of matter. The sessions are supported by PowerPoint presentations but with use of the table for more practical issues. Several of supporting documentation will be available on Moodle (lessons,various texts, PowerPoint presentations, websites, etc), as the link for work submissions.
With regard to the assessment, students can opt for the continuous assessment or final examination.

Assessment

Under the continuous assessment system, students must complete: a theoretical-practical group assignment, with an oral presentation, weighted 65%; a theoretical-practical group assignment consisting of the submission of an analysis of case studies, weighted 10%; and an individual written exam in class, weighted 25%. A minimum grade of 7 points is required to continue in the continuous assessment system.
Under the exam-based assessment system: Students complete a single individual written exam, weighted 100%.
All assessment items will be individually graded from 0 to 20 points.
Students who obtain a final grade of 10 points or higher will pass.
