Learning Goals

Objective:
To train trainees in Basic Life Support.
Competences:
Performs BLS according to CPR/ERC rules;
Use the AED according to CPR/ERC rules;
Performs the lateral position of safety (PLS);
Performs man oeuvres to clear the airway of a foreign body (OVA).

Teaching Methods

Priority will be given to methodologies that stimulate the personal and professional development of students, based on the work of the trainer and trainee that develops clinical reasoning. Training in practical competences and skills, based on the four bases methodology and simulation as a teaching-learning strategy, allows the trainee to learn through experience, i.e. by doing and repeating as many times as necessary until they make no mistakes. It also promotes personal safety.

Assessment

The assessment method is continuous assessment. As this is a b-learning course, there will be online sessions (2 hours) and face-to-face sessions (5 hours). Attendance at 100 % of the contact hours is compulsory to complete the course.
