4.2. Types of texts: essay, argumentation, summary.
4.2.1.The structure of the technical-scientific text.
4.3. Referencing and norms for citation.
4.3.1.Quotation, paraphrasing, plagiarism.

Teaching Methods
The course provides practice in writing for a particular purposeacademic writingthrough models and examples of academic texts. Both the process and the final product are considered. Students are encouraged to discuss and compare some of their writing and to draft and check their writing carefully through proofreading. The assessment, formative and continuous, will be done through practical work, with the elaboration and final presentation of a written/oral research project, which aims to apply the concepts acquired throughout the semester. According to the Academic Regulations of the University of E?vora (RAUE?), a final exam (100%) may also take place.
