At the end of this curricular unit, the student should be able to:
- characterize the theoretical and practical/intervention fields of health psychology
- understand the evolution (and its determinants) of the concepts of health and disease, on bases of the biomedical and biopsychossocial paradigms;
- recognize and develop a critical perspective of the current theoretical and methodological debates in the field of health psychology;
- know the main predictive models of health (and disease) behavior (including self-regulation models);
- know the main models of behavior change in health-risk situations
- characterize the theoretical and practical/intervention fields of health psychology
- understand the evolution (and its determinants) of the concepts of health and disease, on bases of the biomedical and biopsychossocial paradigms;

Teaching Methods
Focusing on student-centred learning and the teacher as a facilitator of this process, active methodologies will be used to promote the self-construction of knowledge, with particular emphasis on the ability to discuss intervention programmes in the context of Health Psychology. Scientific and critical thinking skills will also be trained in the thematic areas of Health Psychology, as well as in behavioural change techniques or therapeutic adherence through role play. Priority will be given to the development of group work.
Assessment
Continuous assessment
Group work (75%). Oral and written presentation of a group assignment on one of the syllabuses (it must include a proposal that includes a properly contextualised intervention programme) and a roleplay in on one of the sessions in the proposed programme.
Individual Work - written test (25%).
Final Assessment
Assessment by Exam (including exam of resource and examination of special period)will be carried out by a written test on the contents of the course
