Teaching Methods

Theoretical Classes - Expository methodology, dialogue encouraging the understanding of theory. Use of practical examples to promote learning of relevant content, critical thinking and the articulation of theory and practice

Practical Classes - Active methods are used, such as analysing cases by watching films, reading texts and describing social stories; critical analyses of scientific articles and viewing or reproducing some classic research, followed by discussion. The aim is to bridge theory and practice and to develop a critical spirit in relation to the theory and practice learnt.

Autonomous Work Outside of Classes - Involves research, reading texts, and preparing content to present in class.

Assessment

Continuous assessment system
Involves taking a test and a group work. The group work consists of presenting a scientific article from the thematic areas of the programme, provided by the lecturer, and carrying out an activity within the scope of the article.
The test is worth 60% and group work for 40% of the final grade.
Attendance in theory and practical classes is compulsory, although a tolerance of 25% is allowed. The pass mark for each examination is 8.5.

Final assessment system
In the final assessment system (including re-sit exams and special season exams) there will be an individual written test (exam) and on the same day the student must individually present a PowerPoint article according to the parameters defined for the continuous assessment.
The test is worth 70% and article presentation for 30% of the final grade.
The pass mark for each examination is 8.5.
