In the end of this unit, students should accomplish the following learning objectives:
- Recognize and identify the scope of topics and key aspects related to trends in tourist demand in the World, Europe and Portugal.
- Analyze and understand the main behavioral models of tourist demand.
- Identify the determinants of tourist demand and the type of influences that affect their behavior concerning their choice and decision to consume destinations and tourism products.
- Identify, from the main key performance indicators of tourist demand, trends associated with new consumption patterns of destinations and tourism products.

Teaching Methods

The contents will be taught using materials such as research papers, national and international databases, videos, texts in tourism trade journals. Exercises will be carried out to improve the component of graphical analysis and tourism indicators. In some sessions, students will be encouraged to participate in webinars or seminars with specialists in the field of study and analysis in trends of tourism markets.

Assessment

Continuous Assessment: 2 Group Works (2 elements)
Assignment 1 (40%): Delivery/Oral presentation of a case study: (Written assignment: 25% + Oral presentation: 15%)
Assignment 2 (60%): Preparation of an analytic report about an outbound tourism markets (Written assignment)

Normal exam period - 1 written test (100%)
Appeal exam period - 1 written test (100%)
Special exam period - 1 written test (100%)
